Denis ABESSOUGUIE - Intellectual Properties Adviser

Denis is a senior and key member of the Firm's Intellectual Property Department and he is an accredited OAPI accredited Intellectual Property agent. He acts on behalf of the Firm as an intellectual property consultant to many foreign clients, performing the following tasks:

Compiling and follow-up of application files of patents applications, registration of trademarks, (with or without priority claim), industrial designs, and domain names.

Assisting clients on the procedures for protection of copy rights.

Compiling and follow-up of files for the payment of annuities and for the renewal of trademarks.

Compiling and follow-up of application files for recording of patents in the special register and of trademarks bearing a change of name or address, or on assignments, pledges etc.

Correction procedures at the African Intellectual Property Organization (OAPI).

Prior search on trademarks, patents industrial designs.

Management of portfolios.

Drafting and review of contracts.

Drafting of submissions and follow-up with regards to disputes at the African Intellectual Property Organization, OAPI (Oppositions, property rights claims, restoration of property rights and seizing and defense before the High Commission for Claims - Commission Supérieure des Recours).

Follow-up of all aspects, on behalf of the firm, at the African Intellectual Property Organization, OAPI and before other administrative, judicial, international, public and private bodies.
